My Kingdom For A Horse...Show...Horse Show

No news about horses, despite the title, but we do have a few new shows that we've booked recently.

The first of which is coming May 9th at Sokol Underground. We'll be opening up Blucymon's CD release party and also playing with Kyle Harvey, two bands we've never played with before. It's an all ages show that starts at 8pm and it's only $5.

Be sure to check out the shows page as we're scheduled to play with some great bands in the next few months.

Come Celebrate Earth

That's right, apparently our show this Friday is part of the Downtown Benson area's Earth Day Celebration, so you can get into all sorts of venues for one low price. What that price is, I'm not sure...nor do I know where you can purchase such a ticket...but we'll be hangin' out here:

Barley Street Tavern (a block south of 62nd & Maple)
Friday, April 11th
9pm, 21+
w/Third Frate, Matt Geiler (of the Brothers)

Should be a great night of music and musical entertainment...we'll be up second and will be playing some new tunes we've been working on.

Sokol Underground This Saturday

Hello everyone. Thankfully you've discovered the internet like we have.

Here's the deal, we've got a big show this Saturday, March 29th at Sokol Underground! It's an all ages show, $10 tickets, and all the proceeds will benefit the Foster Children of America. So come out early...the show starts at 7pm with our labelmates Third Frate...and then we're up about 8:30pm (there will be one heavy metal band in between our sets).

Sokol Underground is absolutely one of our favorite places to play, so come on down and support the cause because it's sure to be a great night of music!

Thanks,
Management

Pulling Focus on iTunes!

Onken-Stein Records - Pulling Focus is now on iTunes. Just click on the link that says iTunes and you can get any song from the new album for a mere $0.99...or pick up the whole album for $2.97, which is $0.99 times the number 3.

We appreciate all your support. Oh, and if you weren't born later than 1987 and still want a physical copy of the CD, just go to any Homer's Music location. The disc is a buck more there, but you get all the glorious artwork that Tim Francis did, and the glorious photography that Eliss Hall did. And if you come to any show you can get it for $5...because that's the price we should be selling it at to not lose money.

True Omaha Story.

"Pulling Focus" In Stores Now!*

The Onken-Stein Records compilation disc, featuring our new song "Please Baby Please," (along with a new song from our labelmates Third Frate and a new song that's a collaborative effort from some members of both bands) is now available at all Homer's Music stores (Omaha, Lincoln, Bellevue, Des Moines, Urbandale). Normally the disc sells for a mere $5, but Homer's has it on special for a staggering $3.98!

So please, instead of buying 6 things off the dollar menu, only buy two and use the other $4 to pick the album. Any support you can give us would be much appreciated...this first ever OSR compilation disc was a grand experiment and we'd love to sell out of these discs and make another! Tell you friends and your enemies...your frenemies...

And thanks to everyone who came to Lincoln to see us with Deep Blue Something and to everyone who came to the Irvington Exit to see us play with Third Frate.

*= well, it's in one store...

That Was A Way Better Party Than The SAG Awards

Big thanks to everyone who came out this weekend and made the Barley Street show and the Kearney trip to Cunningham's Journal an awesome time. Eventually I'll have some info. up in the past section that tells all about the breaking of Fire Codes at the BST, hanging out in the parking lot until 2 am, the problems of finding band members in Lincoln, the massive amounts of Mardi Gras goers at Cunningham's, trashing someone else's hotel room, and the Bruiser dying a sad death on the way home. I have video of all of this too, so look for that in the near future.

Also, if you couldn't make it out to either of the shows, but would still like to pick up a copy of the new compilation disc, "Pulling Focus," to help out the record label and bands on the record label, you can order your copy at CDBaby, pick up the disc at any Ten O'Clock Scholars or Third Frate show, or wait until the disc gets on iTunes...which could be tomorrow or could be a month from now.

We're on "Planet O"...Tonight!

For people who listen to the radio, or radio listeners, be sure to tune into 89.7 the River a little before 8pm tonight. Taylor Stein will be in the studio to promote the Onken-Stein Records release of the compilation disc "Pulling Focus," and will be playing our newest song, "Please Baby Please," along with the rest of the songs on the compilation disc that features us, Third Frate, and PG-13.

This will be a chance to listen to all the tunes before the big CD release party on Feb. 1st at the Barley Street Tavern!

And how!

Who's The Big Winner...

Mikey! Mikey's the big winner!

Swingers references aside, this is actually the first time in 5 attempts that we can say we're the big winner in a Battle of the Bands. And while that's a horrible free throw percentage, it's a decent batting average. So, thanks to all of your support we won the BOTB last night at Knickerbockers and get to open for Deep Blue Something on Feb. 21st! We ended up having the biggest turnout and the best set according to the judges, so we're in like Flint.

You can read more about the set by going here.

And these are the details that we know about the Deep Blue Something show:

Knickerbockers - Feb. 21st
Deep Blue Something
Greater Good
Ten O'Clock Scholars
9pm (we'll obviously play first)
$8 advance, $10 day of show
18+
Go here to purchase tickets in advance.
