Review:
This was definitely one of our more "fan-friendly"
shows, as we improved many a section of the show. How
so, you might ask? Well, it goes a little something
like this...list:
-We started off the show with Omaha, and by not
telling Connealy until we started the show, he
couldn't complain about us playing the song with his
bass solo first.
-During the Run Away section where Stein's shinanigans
often take place, he had nothing exciting to do this
show, so he jumped off Ged's amp and did some
free-style walking (in mid-air mind you), then walked
back to his kit and promptly knocked a cymbal over
with his "cold, dead hands"...which Connealy picked up
while continuing to play.
-With a largely Kosola and Connealy crowd, we added
the new Tenacious D cover (F Her Gently) to the
setlist, which brought the house down and really got
the crowd singing, cheering, clapping, and just
generally into the show. During this song, Ged and
Tay went and got some beer.
-Sometime during the course of the show, Connealy's
mic cut out (we blame Superfan for not checking the
mics before the show) so See You Again was a mic
trading bonanza.
-We added Sit Down to the set and it was one of the
best "crowd participation" Sit Down's we've ever had.
Trooper came on stage (which he said he would if we
played it) and sat down next to Ryan until the
Sing-A-Long part. Stein broke it down to just snare
and kick drum, while Ryan was giving the crowd
complicated instructions on when and when not to sing.
Fun was had by all...all I tell you.
-Threw in Save Us after Tonic because we were having
so much fun playing we didn't want to stop.
-Take Me Back took awhile to end.
So there it is. The setlist don't get much better
than that.
