Review:

This show will definitely go down in the books. Well, first there was "Don't," or as Paul said after the song was over, "Our new song called 'Watching the Clock.'" Let me explain. For the record, I personally don't think I've ever laughed so hard while we were playing a song. Lets just say some lyrics were forgotten, some improvising happened, and the same phrase kept coming up line after line...verse after verse. Sure, Ryan had had some whiskey, but the comedy was doubled because as a band, we had just discussed remembering lyrics right before we went on stage. Just a classic moment.

Not to harp on it, but this next "event" involved the same scenario...only a half hour later. Now granted, this one isn't all on Ryan because we busted out "Pennsylvania," and probably haven't played, let alone practiced that song in probably 6 to 8 months. So we started the song and things were going fine until the whole band came in after the first verse. Then all hell broke loose, the lyrics disappear, and we're suddenly just playing an instrumental version of the song for a measure or two. Oddly enough, Paul, who rarely ever has a mic, had a mic this evening and just kind of picked up where Ryan left off. So we finished the song with Paul on vocals and everyone in the place got to witness another "Scholars Moment."

And by this point, we're just having a blast up there on stage. Nothing's more fun than rockin' out, playing songs we haven't done in a long while, and letting the paying audience get some shinnanigans mixed in with their concert.
