Review:
I'm posting the review of the Spotlight show on the 25th here so that we can post it where it needs to go later. For now, just enjoy being able to read it with one less click of the mouse-thingy that you currently have in your right hand (or your left for our south-paw fans).
This was the show for new material, as we filled most of our set with...wait for it...new material. Only four tracks from the CD found there way onto the set (Run Away, Drive, Indy and TMB). We also debuted two new songs at this show (Erin's Song and Smile), which were received very well by the large number of fans that we had there, as well as fans of Vago and Civicminded (who we played with). Technically, Erin's Song was debuted back in May, but that was just a rough sketch of what the song looks like now. Lots of very positive feedback about Smile from the people, so that's cool.
We ended the show by busting through three strong songs, and were actually asked to play one more song by Marq Manner (who does the booking for the Spotlight) because the crowd was definitely into us. Much like we used to be into Gap, back in 1999.

Review:
Preperation for this show started way back in April of 2005, when Lonnie told us we were going to play this crazy birthday party that he was going to have...for himself.
We played it off as "drunk Lonnie" talkin' to impress all his rowdy friends. As it turns out, he wasn't kidding. And because he wasn't kidding, we had to learn some ridiculous country songs so that he could "live the dream" and do kareoke infront of all his friends with a live band. Apparently we pulled it off too, because people said the crazy country songs we learned the week of the show sounded good. (Damn you Lonnie...Scholars Gone Country was not something we ever wanted to do.)
On to the show. For those of you who have never played a barn party, all you really need is a barn somewhere in sight of where you are actually playing. As it turns out, Lonnie had one directly across the driveway from us, so it constitutes as one. He also had all the alcohol you could drink for free (which attracted a lot of Omaha people, and a few of Connealy's drunken associates), all the food you could eat for free, and two rented port-a-potties. Really, that's all you need. But we had a kickin' PA system and light show as well thanks to Jon Tracy.
As for the show, we recorded it for a possible EP that we might release in the future, or for bootlegs that we might just give out in the future. Either way, some of the highlights included:
1)The Burklund Boys
2)Tenacious D
3)Mrs. Kosola
4)Tay rappin' All We Do Is Lounge
5)Alcohol
6)Beverly Hills (which is where we wanted to be)
