Review:

So when you go from opening the show to suddenly headlining the show, you try to convince as many people who came out early to stay late. For the most part, the crew stayed out (the only reported "casualty" was a Beth) to see us take the stage at midnight and only get 10 songs in the set because Czar Omega played for freakin' ever.

In retrospect, we maybe should have started with "Midnight," but we didn't. Although we did play "April" after the clock struck "It's been April for 15 minutes." It's a little revamped, with a new riff, so that's cool.

And one more thing in regards to the conversation we were just pretending to have, Paul got his own microphone to sing a little, but mostly to tell stories inbetween the awkward silence when Ryan tunes and Connealy can't come up with a monologue to recite to the crowd.

Oh, and one other thing. We debuted "Pennsylvania" at this show, which is one of the brand new songs going to be on the new album. It was fun to play, and reminded us of how we need to write more new songs...and then debut them.

Review:

So Ryan went to Knickerbockers early to make sure that he could watch the beginning of the Nebraska basketball game in the Big 12 tourny. In the meantime, the rest of us went to Ryan's and loaded up all of the other gear. And when we showed up to Knickerbockers, what did we see? Ryan and Paul wearing the exact same, grey hooded sweatshirt.

But wait, it gets better. As we're setting up our gear on stage, Paul takes off his grey hooded sweatshirt to reveal his blue, Pearl Jam t-shirt underneath...which is the exact same size, bought at the exact same show, in the exact same color blue, Pearl Jam t-shirt that Ryan had on under his exact same grey hooded sweatshirt.

Are you following this? Are you seeing the hilarity?

So obviously we thought it was a bad idea for them to both wear the exact same size, bought at the exact same show, in the exact same color blue, Pearl Jam t-shirt...so we did what any band in this situation should do, we found our old bass player (who was probably the smallest person in the room) and made him give his ridiculously small t-shirt to Paul. Talk about a conversation piece!

The show really doesn't matter...with a ridiculously small shirt like that being worn on stage, how could it, honestly...but we played pretty well if you weren't there, or were concerned for our well-being...or both (Fatboy...I'm talking to you). Considering we've only been playing pieces of songs for the last two weeks whilst in the studio, I'd say not bad. We actually considered playing "Summit" at this show because we recently remembered how to play it (almost better than all of our other songs that we practiced the night before), but Connealy wasn't at practice because of these "midterm" things, so we figured we should probably teach the bass player the song before we play it again...since the last time we played it he wasn't in the band.
