Review:

Of all the shows that Curt Grubb, the man responsible for getting our new disc to sound so good, could make it to, he had to make it to this one. For starters, I was sick. Not sick like, oh I've got a cough and the common cold...sick like I'm fighting off death at every turn and I haven't eaten anything but grapes and chicken broth in the last two days, I can barely stand up without feeling sick to the old stomach. Not the ideal situation to play a show. (Eventually, I found out I had mono...)

As luck would have it, though, no one was really there to see us. Most of the Omaha crew was either out of town, or claiming they couldn't come because they had to go "drinking," which is weird because most BARS we play at are DRINKING establishments. Regardless, not too many people there to notice me screwing up the first song. And the guys covered it well by saying that I was just shipped back from Japan after a secret mission for work where I was trying to see the ratio of beef that the Japanese kept vs. the overall population census of the city that the beef was imported to...all in an effort to get better seafood to the states. (Or they may have said I was sick...I blacked out there for a while, but I do remember thinking about beef during the show.)

Probably the highlight was Grubb singing the back-up part he wrote for "Don't" (that appears on the CD), even though he said he didn't want to. Big thanks to him, Bob's brother (sorry...can't remember the name) and anyone else who came with those boys (or who stuck around to see us play). I know we, and those crazy Governor's of Groove appreciated it.
